The Bread Roll Co offers rewarding jobs with career opportunities in food manufacturing.
At our bakery located between St Albans and Hatfield we will train you to make the most of your skills. Experience is not always necessary but a positive, flexible attitude is needed to work as part of our busy team.
As an example of your career progression, you may join our Production Team where you start as a Line Operator and then move to mixing the doughs.
From here you can train to be a Machine Operator and then Supervisor.
There is also the opportunity to move up the career ladder at the Bakery. Most of our managers and supervisers have been promoted internally.
Please note the minimum age requirement for bakery work is 18.
Exam results aren't always necessary but we do find the better qualified you are the more quickly your career is likely to progress. We have supervisors and managers who joined us as school leavers or newly qualified graduates.
We work 7 days a week so some weekend working will be necessary as part of your normal shifts. Our shift timings are early morning starts, late finishes or night working.
Part Time Working
We are able to offer part time work on a seasonal basis or a weekly basis. This is usually packing or cleaning work. You should explain why you want part time work and which days you are free to work when you email us your CV. Priority will be given to applications with relevant experience.
Placement Year in Industry
We are always interested to hear from undergraduates or graduates looking for industrial experience. We have students from local Hertfordshire University and from Sheffield Hallam University on placement years in New Product Development, Quality Assurance and Engineering roles. If you are applying from a university outside the St Albans-Hatfield area, you will need to arrange your own accommodation.
